Hello Parents,
We happily invite you and your child to join our Group Piano For Kids Program! Our fun and innovative group program gives you and your child the opportunity to create a memorable FIRST piano learning experience. What makes it memorable? Our first two terms give students and their parents a chance to fully dive into learning the instrument. Students are encouraged to participate in levelled challenges, two mini recital performances, ensemble "teamplay" activities, while simultaneously building up their confidence and practise habits. Parents are supported by participating in onboarding workshops, video practices, and step-by-step expectations of what is expected to help their child feel successful weekly. In addition, all students attend one weekly in-person lesson and one weekly online coaching session. This ensures everyone is given the support they need outside of the weekly in-person lessons and to keep everyone involved "The Pyramid - Parent, Child, Teacher" accountable. In addition, students will each receive a personalized workbook, report card at the end of each term, and certificate of completion for each level. All of our piano programs move progress towards RCM exams and festivals. The benefits of the transformations that you and your child will receive...will depend on how much work you put in. We've curated some amazing programs including licensing the KeyNotes Group Piano Program to ensure all students jump right into the creativity, collaboration, and levelled challenges. We believe that when students are given buildable tasks each week and come back feeling good about their playing, they will internally want to learn more! To get started, apply today! Get a kickstart to learning the piano with a mix of hybrid activities!
This Summer program will be offered every year starting June to September. This program is great for students age 6+ and/or have a parent who already knows how to play the piano (for younger than 6+). Learn piano along with Miss Donna! There are 6 missions to complete, 4 lesson videos, and a Superhero themed workbook! Students will have full access online to Piano Maestro (from the creators of Simply Piano) and the Supersonics Plus Piano Program. We will be using these two programs as it allows for students to excel and learn as fast as they want or take it as slow as they want. In addition, students are invited to meet with Miss Donna for two private piano lesson sessions and up to 4 group piano sessions. Group piano sessions will consist of theory, ensemble, and performance! This program is a mix of self-learning and meeting with the teacher to ensure you are making progress! We are still accepting students for 2022! Join us today! Hi Everyone!
It's Miss Donna. I'm finally ready to in new students. If you've ever wanted to learn piano with me, now is the time. Once I'm filled, I'll be moving forward to building my team. Lots of love, Miss Donna Congratulations to all of our performers! We had a fabulous and memorable first piano recital since Covid-19 pandemic/lockdowns. I'm so proud of all of my students and families and I wanted to splurge during this recital to show them my appreciation for supporting me and allowing me to continue doing what I have devoted my life to...that is to teaching, coaching, and mentoring students to do and be their best in piano and all their endeavours. We hired a photographer who took these amazing photos for us and this recital would not have been possible without the help of my fiance and all of the families who helped me set-up and set-down. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Warmest, Miss Donna To see the student's performances, please visit our school's Youtube Channel! Our first in-person recital since... December 2019!
We can't wait for our exceptional students showcase their playing. Let's do this! The courage of living is - to take risks, to fail, to get up, and to try again. Try again differently.
Hello, it's Miss Donna here, sharing her thoughts!
I'm super excited to introduce you all to the new Happy Keys 3.0. We are now a Piano School that specializes in beginner's piano lessons and beyond and mentoring future students who will become the leaders of our next generation. I've had the privilege to learn a lot over the 18 years of teaching experiences...and I can't wait to share my knowledge. Teaching has always been my passion but what gets me more excited is seeing the changes in the families and the children's lives. In addition, I'm honoured to have worked with a handful of families for over 5 years and up to coming up 10 years! Isn't this a dream for teachers? It sure is. As I sit here to share my current thoughts, I welcome all new prospective families and students who would love to bask in the energy of growth, personal excellence, and dedication. The arts has played a huge role in my life and I know having a teacher that really is my mentor has changed my life. I often think of my piano teacher and how daring she was...to be more than just a piano teacher. I too, wish to be daring, and to my inner circle of friends, I probably am the most out there person. I personally believe that if you truly wish to learn something, you can. And, when it's time to find a teacher, then it's time to look far into the future and see if you can see your lives with them. When we start piano, our parents are our main mentors, along with our teachers. But, as we get older and move into pre-teen era, someday, that teacher may become your child's mentor as their prefrontal cortex develops well into their early 20's. And, as I look back in my life.... the times that I've excelled was when I had a mentor or mentors. Thus, I believe, we excel when we have mentors or coaches in our lives. I now see how paramount it is that I jump into the legacy that I am creating... as my student's evolve and grow...what will they need? The basics of piano will be mastered in no time and what truly is left is a gift of a lifetime of enjoyment. And, that lifetime of enjoyment will crossover to their social lives, their inner lives, and their families and friends...like a ripple effect. I've been learning the piano since I was 9 years old and I've dedicated 18 years of my life to teaching and growing as a teacher as I am also passionate about researching pedagogy and psychology. This type of dedication and passion is most likely what makes me unique and in a world where most people look for instant results...it can happen too! However, piano is like no other activity. Yes, you can learn a song in a month and guess what? That's just the beginning. Why? There are always steps to getting better and as we evolve as a musician, we will notice even more the subtle nuances. The life-long journey of learning to play any instrument or any art is not only a dedication to the craft but a dedication to oneself. We want to play better, sound better, and ultimately achieve our highest level of playing...and it gives great joy to our parents and grandparents. Playing the piano is like reading books... you don't just read one book in your lifetime. Maybe you do? Well, then it's time to find some new books and jump right in! It's surely can be an adventure if you have the courage to get started. I wish for everyone to grow, evolve, and to find their own path to personal excellence in 2022. There's a lot happening in the world and it's more important than ever that we contribute our energy to the world by creating love, kindness, and peace. How do we do that? First, we may want to begin with ourselves...and music such as playing the piano is one way to find that love, kindness, and peace within. ~Miss Donna |
